How do u change power steering fluid in your car?

my power steering fluid is looking a little dirty, do i need to change the power steering fluid out ever so often or is this something that i just need to keep filled? How do u change power steering fluid in your car?
I can't speak for all vehicles, but for Ford Motor Co there is no recommended maintenance schedule for power steering fluid. In other words, it does not need to be changed. The only time a power steering system requires flushing is when catastrophic failure of a component contaminates the system with debris or something other than the recommended fluid has been introduced into it, be it engine oil, coolant, water, etc. I would check the owner's manual of my vehicle, and if there is no recommendation to change it (other than for the reasons stated above), then don't waste your money. I have owned many vehicles and never changed the power steering fluid in any of them, and have never had a problem, including one Escort that lasted 330,000 miles (nothing mechanically wrong with the car, the rear strut towers rotted out after 15 years). How do u change power steering fluid in your car?
Steal your mother's turkey baster out of the kitchen and suck some fluid out of the reservoir. Then top off with new fluid. The next time you have a major steering problem, have them flush the system. How do u change power steering fluid in your car?
The best thing to do is take your car to a shop and get the steering system flushed out and replaced with new fluid. Its a messy job, and if not done correctly you might wind up wearing some fluid. As far as maintenance goes, look up in your owners manual. It will tell you how often to change any fluids in your car. It is a good idea to change steering fluid, as wear and tear in your cars steering parts contaminates the fluid. The fluid then can't lubricate or cool as well. Please, let me add.
