How do you know its oil? Some cars use brake fluid in the power steering pump, and it resembles oil. Anyhow, there is a hose on the power steering reservoir. All you have to do is disconnect it. Make sure you have something to catch the fluid. How do you get motor oil out of your power steering pump. I didnt put it there please dont ask how it is there
you can buy power steering flush fluid .

Disconnect the return line to the pump.

put hose in a pail have someone start engine and poor fluid in reservoir.

After fluid flush poor 3-4 liters of power steering through system having someone start engine and you pooring in power steering fluid.

The return hose will have only a crimp clamp on it the presser line will a metal fitting on it.

I would try this first.

Could have damaged the power steering system.

Not cheap!!!

Remove the lowest hose on the power steering pump and just let it drain into a drain pan for a couple hours.

The biggest problem you're going to have is getting the power steering to reprime.

You will have to jack the front of the van up so the wheels turn easily and move it back and fourth several times from steering stop to steering stop. How do you get motor oil out of your power steering pump. I didnt put it there please dont ask how it is there
look at your pump......it has 2 hose,s.....the pressure hose is a high pressure hose...with fitting,s at both end,s.....don,t touch that one.....the other hose is the return hose....with simple hose clamp,s.......remove that one at the pump...direct it at an oil recovery pan.....attach a new hose to the pump...with a funnel attached to the other end.....fill the funnel with fresh power steering fluid....have a friend start your car.....while you keep the funnel full of new fluid......soon you will have flushed the contaminated fluid out while replacing it with fresh fluid at the same time......be sure to tighten the hose back to it,s original position when done......good luck! How do you get motor oil out of your power steering pump. i own a repair shop and the best way to get all of it out is take the lines loose on it and completely drain it,and make sure you have it all, i have ran across the same problem before, and the only true way to get all of it is take all the lines off of it and drain it all out ,and you may have to do this twice to get it all ,but it will come out of it,and it shouldn't hurt it ,and if it does you,ll be replacing a few parts, but hopefully all of it will come out, good luck hope this helps. How do you get motor oil out of your power steering pump. What John said, both my Subie and Beemer use ATF for the power steering. It gets burned and dirty. There might be a label on the cap, or it should say something in the owner's manual.

I don't own a repair shop, but if it was oil, it wouldn't work.

You do need some new fluid. Use a bulb type baster and suck out as much as possible. Then refill with fresh stuff. Run it for a week or so, then repeat. That should do it.
