A Power Steering Fluid Question?

The person who does my oil change should let me know that my power sterring fluid is low right?Well I got an oil change on Jan 10th, 2006, but the person did not indicate to me that it was low.Anyways yesterday I went to exit the spirally parking garage with my car and found it was hard to turn the wheel. So I checked the little bottle under the hood that said power steering fluid and it looked quite empty to me.Also, I had recently changed a lightbulb for one of my headlights and I remember having to lift the power steering reservoir in order to get access to the lightbulb.I don't know if me lifting the reservoir out of its location maybe made a leak happen.I guess what i'm asking is could this be a leak because i moved the reservoir from its location so i could gain access to change my headlight blub, or is it really time to top up the power steering fluid?and if the latter, why didn't the person who did my oil change on Jan 10, 2006 tell me to do so?How much will this cost to top up?A Power Steering Fluid Question?
if you had the cap on the resevoir and moved it location it shouldn't of changed a thing at all, what i mean is if the resevoir was full it should still be fulled. Now here is what i would do if i were you, i would go to a car part store and get some power steering fluid and pour it into the resevoir up to the full line. then i would keep my eyes on it to see if it would go down any.

here is what i suggest after putting the power steering fluid is drive the car as normal and every time you fill up at the gas station check the power steering fluid, if it goes low rapidly then you know that their is a leak somewhere but if it still somewhat full then it should be good and no problems at all.

you can identify a power steering problem when you have to struggle with the steering wheel just to get your car to turn. if you have any more issues feel free to contact me at hotcivic80@yahoo.com and let me know the problem in the email and i will reply.

its generally the right thing to do when you are servicing somebody elses vehicle to let them know about all the leaks you find. then again it might not have been leaking at the time of the service it all depends on how the leak looked. if the leak is jst a hose you're looking at 50 bucks but it could be the rack and pinion which could run you about 2500.00A Power Steering Fluid Question?
Just get a bottle of fluid ($2) and fill it up to the requisite level. Check it again in a couple of days. if you have a leak, you'll know. This system is under pressure, so when there's a leak, it's usually a good one. Often times you'll smell it as it drips onto hot engine parts as well.

Chances are you were just low on fluid. Don't trust the flunkies at the oil change places. Full service is an almost outdated term. I barely trust them to change my oil. Learn to check everything else yourself, and your peace of mind will only benefit.A Power Steering Fluid Question?
First of all, you shouldnt rely on others to check fluid levels. Now that being said, if the level is low, go to a parts store (autozone, napa, etc) and BUY SOME POWER STEERING FLUID. A bottle of power steering fluid should be less than 5 bucks depending on where you are from.A Power Steering Fluid Question?
you got an oil change in Jan. that was 3 months ago.

I have seen this alot unfournatly....somone touches your car and from that point on ...till somone else touches it anythin that could possibly go wrong is blamed on him.

it is possible to check a fluid level and the next day develop a slow leak a weep or a seep out of a power stearing line. what im saying is the most responsible person here is you..or should be. but i will tell you a lil trick. refill the reservoir and put a few drops of brake fluid in with it ...it makes the seals swell a little and will stop some leaks depending on location.
